Clean, efficient liquefaction
Since its inception, the ConocoPhillips Optimised CascadeSM Process has been continuously successful.
Natural gas is first treated to remove contaminants such as CO2, water and mercury.
Next, the gas is chilled to -160°C in successively colder heat exchangers that use propane, ethylene and methane as refrigerants.
The LNG is finally pumped into insulated storage tanks.
