Reducing greenhouse gas emissions
Gas flaring has been the single largest contributor of greenhouse gases (GHGs) in Nigeria. The World Bank estimated in 2004 that Nigeria flares approximately 75% of the natural gas it produces due to lack of infrastructure.
The Brass LNG project will reduce overall GHG emissions by approximately 18 million tonnes per year from Nigeria.
