Non-government organisations

There are many NGOs in Nigeria dedicated to community, environmental and civil rights issues. Brass LNG considers them all stakeholders.

Our involvement with NGOs

These organisations have shown consistent interest in the Brass LNG project as it affects local communities.

  • Pro-Natura International (PNI)
  • Niger Delta Wetlands Centre (NDWC)
  • Niger Delta Human & Environmental Rescue Organization (ND-HERO)

International NGOs influential in environmental issues are engaged on matters relating to our Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report.

The Equator Principles

The Equator Principles offer a way for lenders to ensure that large development projects they finance in emerging countries are managed in socially responsible and environmentally sound ways.

A key feature of the Principles is that negative impacts on ecosystems and communities should be avoided where possible. If unavoidable, the impact should be minimised and compensated for. Brass LNG is working diligently with advisors on the application of the Equator Principles to the Project.

For more information, visit the Equator Principles website.
