We kicked off the Brass LNG project in 2003. When the plant is completed, it will produce quality LNG for at least 20 years.

      Conceptual study Memorandum of Understanding agreed by the Nigerian Government, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC), & Phillips Oil Company Nigeria Limited (POCNL)

  • 2002

    • June 2002

      Offshore plant conceptual study completed

  • 2003

    • January 2003

      Onshore plant conceptual study completed

    • 30th October, 2003

      NNPC, POCNL, ENI International and Chevron Nigeria Limited entered Heads of Agreement to establish the Company

    • 9th December, 2003

      Brass LNG Limited incorporated

  • 2004

    • 20th February, 2004

      First Brass LNG Board of Directors meeting held

    • 10th November, 2004

      Front End Engineering Design (FEED) awarded to Bechtel Corporation

  • 2005

    • December 2005

      Preliminary FEED completed

  • 2006

    • January 2006

      Memoranda of Understanding for long-term LNG sales signed

    • 3rd April, 2006

      Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) submitted to regulators

    • 19th July, 2006

      EIA Provisional Approval received from regulators

    • July 2006

      Total joins as a Brass LNG Shareholder, replacing Chevron Nigeria Limited

    • 20th September, 2006

      Shareholders Agreement signed

    • November 2006

      Final FEED completed

      Plant site real estate obtained

      Granting of the Brass LNG Free Zone

      Ground breaking ceremony by President Olusegun Obasanjo CFR

      Brass LNG enters a Project Management Contract with Bechtel Corporation of United States
